All this hot dry summer it has amused me to see the warning sign as you approach the football ground roundabout at Dorchester from Weymouth which says ‘flood’.
It must have been there since the Beast from the East stalked the land as it is getting a bit overgrown.
However the other day driving out of Dorchester to the roundabout I was amazed to find the following notice securely screwed to the direction sign just beyond the turn for Tesco.
Black letters on a yellow background announce the following: Weymouth International Beach Race February 27-28, 2016.
I am so sorry I missed it.
Mind you, nothing beats the sign displayed on the A37 to Yeovil near Charminster Wiers which reads ‘Cats Eyes Removed’.
How cruel.
