THE clothing brand Animal has donated £3,308 to the Dorset Wildlife Trust Fine Foundation Wild Seas Centre at Kimmeridge.
Animal, founded in Poole, opted to donate funds from the sale of five pence plastic bags to local charities.
Company managing director Laurence Hall said: "Life for Animal began on the Dorset coast, so we're delighted to donate to a local charity who do amazing work protecting and conserving the shoreline we call home."
The Kimmeridge centre educates and informs visitors about the ecosystem of the bay, as well as the importance of marine conservation today, and for generations to come.
It also provides a space for exhibitions, events, activities and school trips.
Julie Hatcher, Dorset Wildlife Trust marine awareness officer said: "Dorset Wildlife Trust is delighted and very grateful to receive this generous donation.
"Running the Fine Foundation Wild Seas Centre and all our activities at Kimmeridge is costly and we are reliant on the generosity of individuals and organisations like Animal to help keep the centre open.
"We are always looking for new ways to involve both visitors, sea-users and the local community in our work and we hope to be able to use this money to improve people’s awareness of and connection with the sea for the benefit of both people and the wildlife that lives there."
