A diver was airlifted to safety after getting into trouble off Portland Bill.
Weymouth RNLI Lifeboat was called yesterday afternoon to reports of a vessel in need of assistance, 10 miles South West of Portland Bill.
The all-weather lifeboat was launched at around 12.21pm to rescue a diver on board who had experienced a rapid ascent.
The lifeboat was around four miles South West of Portland Bill when the crew was told by Solent Coastguard that the rescue helicopter from Lee on Solent had winched the diver to Poole.
The diver was then taken a hyperbaric chamber for treatment.
Wyke Coastguard CRT then met the vessel and took details of the incident for the National Maritime Coastguard Centre.
The lifeboat returned to its station at 1.30pm.
