BUSINESSWOMAN Stephanie Pettitt is holding an open day with 'pre-Christmas business MoTs' to mark her launch at the Jubilee Enterprise Centre in Weymouth.

She has expanded Equation in offices at the complex behind the shops in the retail park on the former railway sidings.

It handles the traditional roles of book-keeper and accountant as well as a parallel service of business support.

Ms Pettitt is holding the open session at her official launch on Wednesday, December 5, between noon and 4pm.

She is offering a free, no obligation Pre-Christmas business MoT' which will pinpoint areas of an organisation where improvements can be made.

Guests' business cards will be entered into a draw where they can win, amongst other prizes, spa treatments at the Portland Spa at Southwell Park.

Equation specialises in small to medium-sized businesses in Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester and Bridport.

Using its own staff, trained in-house, it can take care of all the daily record-keeping, right through to final accounts.

It also has a Business Support service, analysing figures and offering advice and services to improve business performance and profitability.

Ms Pettitt, 31, said: "We operate a completely transparent pricing structure that shows exactly what you're getting for your money.

"We have simplified our accounting methods so that clients can pick and choose the products and services they require, building a simple, tailor-made package for their organisation.

"In this age, we expect our mobile phone tariffs and plumber's bills to be easy to understand, so why not accountancy fees?"

Centre manager Nigel Reed at the Basepoint Jubilee Enterprise Centre added: "I'm delighted Stephanie has chosen to expand her company at the centre.

"She has a really professional approach and clearly wants to help her clients.

"I have been so impressed that I have already passed on a number of potential clients and will continue to promote Equation with Basepoint business support."
