CONVERSION plans for a dilapidated Weymouth home have been welcomed by councillors.
Members of Weymouth and Portland Borough Council's planning committee approved an application to convert a mid-terraced house in Lennox Street into two maisonettes.
Committee chairman Councillor Peter Farrell said: "It's been like this for the last 15 to 20 years.
"We tried to get a compulsory purchase order for it.
"The lady next door has been trying to run a guest house.
"People stopped coming to the area to stay because of the house next door."
