A COMICAL sign on a Dorchester roundabout has been causing amusement today.

A 'swimming pool' sign has been placed on Monkeys Jump roundabout pointing in the direction of a puddle - as practical jokers appeared to poke fun at the British weather - and the state of local roads.

It is not known who is behind the prank, which was snapped by eagle-eyed passenger of a passing vehicle, Emma Leverton, who described it as "good old-fashioned British humour."

It comes amid a rainy midsummer's day. The Met Office predicts continued downpours at intervals throughout the rest of this evening.

Tomorrow is set to be drier, however, but is likely to remain overcast with occasional sunshine breaking through around 5pm.

However Met Office forecasters predict a return of warmer weather and sunshine on Wednesday.
