WEYMOUTH Beach Volleyball Club will host Doncaster in the Volleyball England National League Division One at Redlands tomorrow (12.45pm).
It has been a long wait for the Weymouth side but it is finally here – the opportunity to host a fully National fixture.
The team have previously competed at a regional and South of England level, in the South West League and National Leagues Two and Three, but after three promotions in three seasons, and a Covid-19 break, the time has come.
Doncaster will prove difficult opposition for the local side but they hope to take full advantage of being at home and having a crowd behind them.
Club captain, Ryan Stout, said: “This league is another step up in class for our players and last weeks away defeat showed them that.
"We want to fight hard and claim our first league win of the season. Hopefully being at home will give us the advantage we need to make that possible."

Weymouth, having already travelled to Cambridge last weekend, will face teams from all over the country this season including Manchester, Nottingham, Stockport and London.
These teams have some of the most well known players in British Volleyball playing for them as well as players from all over Europe and the team are excited to host them here in Weymouth.
Graeme Sawyer, club chairman, added: “It’s a very exciting time for the club. We haven’t had volleyball at this level in Weymouth since the early 90s and we are so pleased to be able to bring it back to our town.
"We hope lots of people will turn out to watch and cheer the team on from the balcony. The crowd have produced a great atmosphere in previous seasons and we hope to replicate that again this year."
The team are also progressing in the National Cup, where they recently defeated fellow League One side London Aces 3-0 away from home to progress into the last 16 where they will face another London team, this time from the Super League, Richmond Docklands.
