FIREFIGHTERS were called to extinguish a car fire in the early hours of this morning.
Crews were called at 4.58am this morning to reports of a car which was engulfed in flames in a car park on Ludbourne Road in Sherborne.
Two breathing apparatus wearers tackled the blaze and extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet.
Crews handed the incident over to police.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "One crew from Sherborne were called at 04.58am this morning (24th December) to Ludbourne Road, Sherborne to reports of a vehicle fire.
"On arrival the crew found one vehicle well alight. They used one hose reel and two sets of breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.
"The stop message was received at 05.38am. The crew returned to station at 06.01am."
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at around 5am on Friday 24 December 2021 of a car on fire in a car park off the B3145 in Sherborne.
"Officers attended and enquiries are ongoing into the incident. No arrests have been made."
