Wessex Morris Men have got a spring in their step after a prolonged break due to Covid.
They are ready to jump back into action for the official start of the Morris season in Cerne Abbas on Sunday, May 1.
The dancers from the longest-established morris side in Dorset will climb the hill at Cerne, to dance in the Giant’s Trendle at sunrise, 5.15am on May Day. They will then process to the village centre, to dance again.
After this they will resume their regular Monday night tours of Dorset and Somerset and also be dancing at major events, including the Royal Bath and West Show on June 2, Wessex Folk Festival in Weymouth on June 5 and Bridport Folk Festival on July 24.
