Two people were treated for burns after a bonfire raged out of control.

Firefighters said the bonfire was threatening to catch a small barn alight, and they worked to prevent it from spreading.

Crews were alerted to the incident at Tolpuddle yesterday afternoon.

Once the scene was made safe the bonfire was left to burn under the control of the home owner.

A spokesman for Dorchester Fire Station said: "An appliance from Dorchester was mobilised along with an appliance from Poole Fire Station to an out of control bonfire which was threatening to catch a small barn alight.

"The fire was brought under control and casualties were treated for minor burns.
