NEW LOOK has announced the date it will open its new shop in Weymouth town centre.

As previously reported, the clothing retailer closed its former premises in the town centre in February after it was ejected from the premises by the landlord.

Shoppers were left reeling by the news.

The store has now revealed on its website and in a Facebook post that it will return on Wednesday June 15, just around the corner from its former premises.

The Facebook Post reads: “Weymouth, we are excited to welcome you to our new store on 15th June, we can’t wait to see you! #thatnewlookfeeling”.

The new store will be located on New Bond Street, formerly Monsoon and Accessorize, which closed its doors and stopped trading in early January.

Part of the fabric of the town, New Look opened its first store in St Mary Street 51 years ago. The chain also has headquarters at Mercery Road and is a major local employer.

It will now return to the town after a planning application was submitted to Dorset Council to erect and illuminated sign featuring black text with white inset faces onto a white backing panel.
