THE Westham Cops Youth football team will be playing against the Littlemoor Team this Saturday March 1 at 2pm on pitch two. This should be a good game and they would welcome some support.

  • On Saturday, March 8 there will be a bric-a-brac sale at St Joseph's Church Hall starting at 10am and finishing at 11.30am. Everyone is welcome to attend.
  • A lady called Luretta Spearing is going to run in the New York Marathon in aid of the RNLI.

To help towards the cost of the trip, Pauline Haime and her friend are going to be holding a table top sale on the first Saturday of every month starting on Saturday April 5 at the Fiveways Centre on Radipole Lane between 10am and 1pm.

They are also going to hold a table top sale on the fourth Saturday of every month to raise money for the Lung Foundation.

Please contact Pauline on 776638 if you are interested in having a table at any of the sales, the cost of a table will be £3.

  • I called in at the Fiveways Centre on Monday to see the ladies and gent making cards at their craft club.

The club was initially run by Weymouth and Portland Borough Council but when the funding ran out the members decided to carry on with the club on their own.

I spoke to one lady who had recently moved to Weymouth from Kent and who was a stranger in the town, she has found the club members to be very friendly and the skills she is learning at the club have encouraged her to make cards at home as well.

All of the members (the youngest being 44) really look forward to their weekly club. This week they were making a card with a hat as the main design and I was very impressed with them all.

If anyone is interested in joining the craft club please contact Margaret Baker on 773604.
