A TREE surgeon who got stuck up a tree when he injured his shoulder was rescued by the emergency services today.

The man had been working up a tree at premises in St George's Estate Road, Portland when he slipped and dislocated his shoulder.

Fire crews from Portland were called just after 3pm today (Weds)) and were on the scene within seven minutes.

A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said the crew requested back-up from the special rope rescue team in Weymouth but paramedics on the scene gave pain relief to the tree surgeon and he felt well enough to walk down a ladder.
