Dorset dialect poet Sue Worth visited a Weymouth school to celebrate National Poetry Day.
The Dorset performance poet visited Wey Valley Academy in Dorchester Road.
Sue is a published and professional writer, actor and poet. She uses myth, legend and intertextuality in her work such as in Dorset Ophelier and is a senior member of the New Hardy Players.
Teacher Mark Chutter, who organised the event, said: "It was a real pleasure to invite a poet who is focusing on the local dialect and oral tradition - my thanks to Sue for an engaging morning."
Students were inspired to spend time discovering poetry as a result of the visit.
One student said: "Sue has really inspired me to read and to perform poetry."
