A HOTEL with views of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast has gone on sale at £2.2million.

West Lulworth House in Main Road is just a short walk from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.

The four-storey Victorian hotel, which has 22 ensuite bedrooms, is being marketed by estate agents Savills.

The main building is believed to date from 1881 and includes an open plan bar and dining area, as well as the 17 bedrooms. A modern two-storey cottage, The Purbecks, sits adjacent to the main building, and provides the remaining five letting bedrooms.

Guests at the hotel can also make use of a heated outdoor swimming pool alongside a seating area.

There is also a decked and paved guest terrace and a number of further terraced levels with shrubs and lawned gardens to the rear of the property. There is a tarmac car park to the front of the property which provides parking for guests.

Adam Bullas, director in the licensed leisure team at Savills, said: “The is a rare investment opportunity to acquire a beautiful hotel in a picturesque village location on the doorstep of one of UK’s most popular tourist destinations.

“The site offers further potential for development subject to the necessary planning permissions.”

The listing says the hotel offers a “unique opportunity” to benefit from high footfall as it is opposite the main car park for Lulworth.

It added: “The previous business, a holiday cooperative, operated the country house hotel to patrons only, offering members and guests full board along with guided and self-guided walking and activity holidays.

“An incoming hotelier will be well placed to take full advantage of the aforementioned number of visitors and demand for accommodation, while also serving food and drink to non-patrons.”
