CHERRIES have new owners, with everyone now familiar with the takeover’s front man, American businessman Bill Foley.
However, confirmation of the change in ownership also revealed the names behind Black Knight Football and Entertainment, the company that now owns the club, with famed actor Michael B Jordan confirmed as part of a minority ownership group alongside Nullah Sarker.

Jordan, who in 2020 was named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine, is arguably most recognised for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing the character Killmonger in Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
He also achieved notoriety for his work on The Wire and was named in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Hollywood & Entertainment list in 2014.
Aside from acting credits, 35-year-old Jordan is also set to direct the third instalment of the Creed franchise, where he plays the titular character Donnie Creed.
In the statement on their website confirming the takeover, Cherries hinted at Jordan’s future involvement, sharing: “AFC Bournemouth is Michael’s first foray into professional sports ownership, as he and Nullah will work closely with Bill in areas including global marketing and internationalisation of the club.”
Jordan is no stranger to the business world, previously investing alongside tennis legend Serena Williams in TracFlo, an app that streamlines “contractor documents and workflow operations for construction projects.”
