CHRISTMAS has come and gone for another year.

You’ve spent weeks buying presents, decorating the house and cooking and it’s all over in a flash.

If you’ve already had enough of your Christmas tree and want to take it down, then here’s what you can do with it.

Recycle it

BCP Council does not collect or recycle real Christmas trees.

However, these can be taken to the recycling centres in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Alternatively, they can be taken to Upton Country Park in Poole for composting between December 27 and January 10.

Have it collected for charity in exchange for a donation

Mental health charity Dorset Mind has teamed up with Maidmans Moving and Storage, Enterprise and Upton Tree Services to collect disused Christmas trees.

Collection will cost £10 and will happen between January 5 and 6, with volunteers reaching Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and surrounding areas.

People can register their interest at the Dorset Mind website dorsetmind.uk.

Dorset’s disability charity Diverse Abilities is collecting trees for a donation of £10 per tree on January 6, 7, 8 and 9.

Volunteers will collect trees and dispose of it responsibly.

Trees can be collected from Bournemouth, Bransgore, Broadstone, Burton, Christchurch, Corfe Mullen, Ferndown, Highcliffe, Hurn, Lytchett Minster, Poole, Ringwood, Sopley, Upton, Verwood, West Moors, Wimborne and Winkton.
