Friends of 15-year-old Roxy Phillips of Weymouth will gather at a youth club disco which will raise money in her memory.

Proceeds from the disco, to be held next month at the Top Club in Littlemoor, Weymouth, will go towards caring for animal lover Roxy's pets - including her beloved horse, Bradley.

She was a well-known animal lover, and members of the Top Club wanted to help in their own small way by contributing to the upkeep of her beloved pets.

The disco has been organised with the permission of Roxy’s mother.

Sasha Knott-Fancy, event organiser for the Top Club, said: “It is with a very heavy and sad heart that we learnt of the tragic loss of Roxy Phillips aged 15.

"It is just horrific, such a tragedy. We are still all in shock and feeling helpless.

"It took us a few days to come together as a club and decide what we wanted to do. After talking with the family and gaining permission from Roxy’s mum, we decided that all proceeds from our disco will be donated towards some of the upkeep of Roxy’s precious, beautiful animals. This is just something for us to do as a Top Club.

“We personally know how much her animals meant to her, she was a huge animal lover. We knew Roxy, she used to go around with lots of kids on the estate and come up to the Top Club with her two big dogs. She was so lovely, she really was.

“Our thoughts are with the family, at this difficult time. We invite everyone to come along to raise money for Roxy’s beautiful animals.”

The disco will take place on Saturday, April 8 from 4.30pm till 6pm and costs £2.50 per child.

If you would like to donate independently to the disco, visit the Top Club and speak to James Knott-Fancy.
