Researchers from the University of Southampton are looking to get the opinions of Dorchester locals about the town.

The researchers are conducting a survey of 21 to 30-year-old adults asking about their views on Dorchester, over a free drink in the pub.

It is part of a project called "Feeling Towns" which is being run across towns in the UK by the University's Institute for Arts and Humanities.

The research will be used by Dorchester Town Council, which is looking to use the information to help improve the town.

Emma Scott, Community Development Officer at Dorchester Town Council, said: "We are hoping to build a picture about what is important about our town.

"We want to hear about what the good things are so we can try and build on what is going well.

"We also want to hear about the less positive areas and then we can perhaps focus future projects on that in the future.

"21-30-year-olds are a group we don't really hear from and we don't often have their views included.

"We would like as many people as possible to attend and give their views, the more the better."

The focus group will be conducted in Vivo Lounge in Brewery Square in Dorchester on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

The event will run from 4pm until 5pm with a free drink and free snacks included.
