Emergency services rushed to a van fire near Dorchester.

At around 12pm today, police and fire services were called to a fire near the Weirs Roundabout.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire on the dashboard of the van.

A photo from Dorchester Fire Station shows significant damage to the interior of the vehicle following the fire.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 12.04 pm of a vehicle fire at the Weirs Roundabout on the B3147 near Dorchester.

"Officers attended and assisted as the fire service dealt with the fire. Recovery was arranged and officers left the scene at around 12.50pm."
