A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with "serious injuries" sustained in a crash with a car on the coast road.
Police were called at around 3.00 pm to report of a collision on the B3157 coast road between Chickerell and Langton Herring.
Police and ambulance services were both called to the crash.
The road was closed as drivers were advised to use alternative routes.
The road was reopened at around 4.05 pm.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Called at 2.57 pm to report of a collision involving car and a motorbike.
"Location is B3157 between Chickerell and Langton Herring
"Officers in attendance with the ambulance service."
The police later added: "The motorbike rider was taken to hospital for treatment by the ambulance service for treatment to serious injuries."
