A WEYMOUTH bed and breakfast will appear on Channel 4 competition Four In a Bed Tonight.
Maxine Gilroy, 54, took over The Ocean Hotel on The Esplanade in 2022 after "falling in love" with the town on a holiday the previous year.
She applied to the show to try and show off her "unique" and "quirky" hotel to a wider audience.
Ms Gilroy also hoped to promote Weymouth by showing her guests a tour around the Nothe Fort as her activity.
Maxine admitted she found her experience on the show a "stressful" one, eager to impress and keen not to "put anyone else down".
She said: "It was really stressful, At the time I had only had the hotel open for around six months so I was still very much learning the trade.
"Obviously as part of the show you have to rate other businesses, that was very stressful because I don't want to put anyone else down and I don't want to ruin someone else's business.
"I am eccentric and sometimes that means I can clash with other people."
Ms Gilroy remained tight-lipped about the results of the show but said she believed her hotel had the best view out of all her competitors.
She said: "I am glad I got to show off Weymouth, I am certain we had the best view.
"I came here for a day in 2021 and I fell in love with the place, I bought the hotel in January 2022 nearly straight afterwards.
"My activity was at the Nothe Fort and despite it being a freezing cold day in September, the activity was amazing and everyone really enjoyed their tour of the fort."
Since filming the series, Ms Gilroy has continued to put her unique stamp on her business, with a focus on using local artists to decorate the interior as well as sustainable and upcycled items for furniture and decorations.
She said: "In the beginning, I think it looked a bit crazy, a bit mad, but I think people are now starting to see my vision.
Four in a Bed with Maxine and the Ocean Hotel will air on Channel 4 tonight at 6pm.
