An internationally acclaimed pianist and composer is to perform in Dorchester.

Tamara Konstantin will be performing at a concert alongside other Dorset musicians in St Mary's Church.

Hosted by Dorchester Arts, the concert is scheduled for Saturday, February 24 from 7.30pm.

Tamara regularly has her compositions played on Classic FM and has more than a million streams on Spotify.

She recently supported singer Aled Jones on a national tour of cathedrals and has collaborated with acclaimed cellist Jiaxin Lloyd Webber.

Originally from Tbilisi, Georgia, Tamara has lived in Weymouth for more than two decades and is inspired by the natural beauty of Dorset.

She said: "Dorset has been my home for over 22 years and my love of it is reflected in my compositions.

"To perform alongside some of the finest composers in Dorset at a venue as special as St Mary's Church is a real privilege for me.

"There will be an enormous amount of homegrown talent on display, so I hope everyone can join us for this special performance."

Tamara will also be performing alongside fellow Dorset composers Rick Birley and Geof Edge who will all be showcasing original music.

Rick has been writing music for over three decades, his compositions for the concert will feature an intimate piano and a solo violin, as well as larger works for the choir and orchestra.

Geof will be familiar to those that attended the Moonbury Rings concert at the historic Maumbury Rings venue in Dorchester that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Moon landings.

The performers will be backed by a group of musicians that all share a Dorset connection.

Due to the space available at the church, there is only room for 250 people.
