A music festival with a twist is returning this year to raise money for charity.
Purify Festival, which is a ‘traditional music festival with a twist of a wellness event’, is now in its second year and will take place from July 19 to 24, in Sturminster Marshall to raise funds for Dorset Mind.
It will be taking place just off the A31 at Partyfield and Moonacre, an outdoor events space.
An organiser for the festival said: “The festival takes the traditional music festival and adds the twist of a wellness event, meaning that people that wouldn’t normally access a wellness retreat, are able to benefit from the educational and therapeutic services they provide.
“We are really excited to be returning with this event, after a successful establishing year in 2023.
“We are especially hopeful that we can raise the funds and the awareness to make a real impact to the residents of Dorset. We want to build a healthier and happier community.”
Purify Festival aims to give people the tools to take charge of their own well-being. This is an event that has something for everyone, with all genres of music, alternative therapies and activities.
Organisers suggest that ‘we are currently facing a crisis nationally with regard to mental health services’ which is why they wanted to ‘do something to address this.’
There will be two music stages, hosting 25 different acts over the weekend, including a main stage and an acoustic forest stage, solely for acoustic performances.
Other acts include rock, pop, atmospheric beats, indie, rap and R&B.
There will also be a late-night dance rave, hosted by jungle, drum and bass and house DJs.
Throughout the weekend, there are alternative therapies on site, such as Laughter Yoga, Pilates, reiki, crystal healing and body art.
Twenty-five per cent of profits from the event will go to Dorset Mind, whilst the remaining profits will be reinvested to future events, to ‘increase the event’s fundraising potential.’
The event is already receiving plenty of support from local sponsors including, Dooker Entertainment, Green Laurels, Blossom Childcare, Krispy Jacket Studios and Hangover Hill Presents.
