Plans are progressing in the redevelopment on the site of Brewers Quay, with a website hosting the properties on site for sale.

Brewers Quay was closed in 2010, and its future was up in the air for years after prospective sales fell through.

The Grade II listed site is being developed by local firm, Brewers Quay Weymouth Ltd, who will look to turn the ground floor into a new and improved home for Weymouth Museum, alongside four retail units. Elsewhere within the building complex, the company is planning to build 37 flats, 12 mews houses and a gym.

Now, a new website has gone live to give prospective buyers a glimpse of the properties on offer.

Dorset Echo: Brewers Quay development CGI'sThe site, named after Brewers Quay, talks about each phase in the development process, labelling the project as ‘ambitious and much-anticipated.’

Phase One, known as Coopers Mews, is situated behind the main building where the Old Workshops were, and will become three two bedroom single-storey dwellings- with ‘early enquiries’ already reserved.

Brewery Reach, encompassing the old Newtons Cove car park, will become six townhouses with gardens, parking and terraces. This part of the development will see a block of 12 newly built apartments. Each town house will also include a study whilst the apartments will have their own balcony.

It is expected that the converted bungalows at Coopers Mews are due to be completed sometime in Spring, with the townhouses set to be completed later in the year.

Prices are set to start from £295,000 for the apartments, to £485,000 for the town houses.

Alice Church of Savills residential development sales team in Dorset said: “The launch of Brewery Reach represents the first residential phase of this landmark development. With a number of off-plan reservations already made, we anticipate continued demand from a range of buyers attracted by the high specification and the vibrant, quayside location in central Weymouth.”

Developers have described the second phase as ‘especially challenging’ which will bring with it the return of Weymouth Museum, and the construction of 49 apartments.

A spokesperson for the developers said: “This long-awaited and much-anticipated project has been the talk of the town for many years. Finally, the moment has come to see this magnificent structure brought back to life.”
