One of the headliners for a popular west Dorset music festival has been announced.

Bridport's Jurassic Fields is back for 2024 and an exciting act has now been confirmed for the event ahead of the summer.

Reverend and The Makers have been announced as the headline act for Friday night.

The rock band from Sheffield are a stalwart of the British music scene with multiple top 10 albums and a career spanning two decades.

Brighton-based band Noble Jacks will also be playing the festival after being announced for the Sunday line up, bringing their folk-influenced Americana tones to the Jurassic Coast.

Last year saw the event held in its new location for the first time at West Bay Fields, near Broomhill Farm off the A35, and the event will continue at the site.

Now that acts are starting to be announced, organisers will be hoping that the weather will hold for this year after severe rain and wind forced them to cancel the Friday acts last year.

The festival will take place from Friday, July 12 until Sunday, July 14 when Noble jacks  will round of the weekend's festivities.

Early bird tickets for this year's festival are still available to buy, but won't be available as of February 1.

Weekend tickets in the sale are priced at £75 for adults and £50 for concessions and children over 10 years of age.

Last year's event saw The Hoosiers, The Feeling and Ferocious Dog at the top of the bill.

Other acts included Buster Shuffle, Freestylers, Stanton Warriors, Black Water County, Steve Knightley, Shelby’s Elbows and Danny Adams.

Along with the big headline acts, the event also has a host of talented local musicians both new and old.
