Three Dorset sites have been featured in a top 12 list of coastal walks in the UK.

Online company Betway has compiled a list of the top coastal walks to discover in the UK - with a walk around Purbeck's Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Bat’s Head listed in joint second place.

Two other Dorset locations were also featured in the top ten, with a walk around Portland Bill, and on Brownsea Island coming ninth and tenth respectively.

The popularity of each coastal location was measured by a unique index score. This was based on the number of hashtags and views each coastal site has acquired on Instagram, as well as Trip Advisor rankings - with the lower the overall index score the higher the ranking.

A statement from Betway read: “When it comes to ticking off some of the most breath-taking cliff top views on the south west coast, taking a walk from Lulworth Cove to the magnificent Durdle Door seems like a no-brainer.

“The Jurassic coastline of Dorset boasts crystal clear waters beneath its towering, dramatic cliffs.”
