IT wouldn't be Easter without having one or two Easter eggs, but can you buy any which were made in Dorset?

Fortunately, local businesses around the county are stocked up and ready to supply locally made eggs.

Here are some of the places you can get a local treat this Easter.

Levoco

Weymouth chocolatier Levoco is selling a 600g Easter egg which can be made customisable this year.

Laura Whittaker, owner of Levoco said: "People can choose the type of chocolate (dark or milk), colour scheme and flavouring - either plain, crunchie or very gooey caramel.

"I also have Easter Egg Tablet Bars. These came in milk or dark chocolate and the flavours are crunchie, Biscoff or plain.

"They are all made in my commercial kitchen in Weymouth. I have quite a bit of stock for the markets this weekend.

"I also have Bon Bons available if anyone doesn’t fancy an egg."

 

Chocolate Art House

Hand-painted Easter eggs from Chocolate Art House will be available to customers at Sturminster Newton Chocolate Fair (Saturday, March 30) and Poundbury Easter Market (Sunday, March 31).

Owner Claudia said: "All of my eggs are handmade and hand painted using coloured cocoa butter which makes each egg and individual piece of art.

"I use a blend of Belgian chocolate, for smooth creaminess and Columbian chocolate (for richer flavour, to create my chocolate eggs.

"Each one is filled with Easter goodies which could include; rocky road, honeycomb, caramelised white chocolate or white chocolate bunnies.

They are also available to buy in 1855 in Sturminster Newton.

Prices range from £9 for a small hand-painted egg, up to £25 for a large hand painted egg filled with salted caramel bonbons. 

Bayside Bakery

Alternatively, if you are looking for a different kind of Easter street, special Easter brownies are available at Bayside Bakery in Bridport.

Established in 2015, they are a family-run bakery in Bridport specialising in hand-baked award-winning brownies.

Owner Katy said: "We have lots of different brownie flavours available to buy and our brownie of the month special this month is our Easter Brownie.

"We have a stall in Bridport market twice a week and this weekend we’ll also be at the Dorset Food and Drink food fair at Abbotsbury Gardens on Saturday and at the Poundbury Easter Market on Sunday."

The brownies are £2.70 each or 4 for £10.

They can also be ordered as gift boxes online with free nationwide delivery.
