A PORTLAND hotel is to convert its skittle alley and a store to add to its accommodation.
Dorset Council has agreed planning permission for the conversions at the Royal Breakwater Hotel, Castletown – the alley to become studio accommodation and the store to be converted to a bedroom with a bathroom and kitchenette, accessible by a wheelchair, if needed.
Portland Town Council had objected to the application and had asked Dorset Council officers to visit the site before making a decision.
The changes, to the rear of the building, will not be seen from the street with both sites due for conversions currently not in use.
