An event in Dorset will mark the sixty-eighth edition of a much loved music competition in style.

Weymouth Pavilion will be transforming into a Eurovision extravaganza to celebrate the European song contest.

The evening promises to be packed full of entertainment and will take place at the Pavilion’s Ocean Room on May, 11 at 7pm- coinciding with the Eurovision Song Contest's finale.

A live stream of the finale will give guests a taste of the action whilst there will also be lip-sync battles and competitions throughout the night.

Jamie Riding, from Weymouth, will host the show following his performance as the Dame in the 2023 pantomime, Snow White.

In traditional Eurovision spirit, the organisers of the event are encouraging guests to raid their closets for wigs, glitter, and props for the night.

The price of general admission for the event is £2.50, with organisers wanting it to be an affordable treat for the entire family.

Drinks and bar snacks will also be available from the bar.

This year’s representative for the United Kingdom is Olly Alexander with his song, Dizzy. The contest will be hosted in Malmo, Sweden after Loreen’s victory last year in Liverpool with the song, Tattoo.

A spokesperson for Weymouth Pavilion said: “Join us for an evening of pure joy, laughter, and camaraderie, where all ages are welcome- from the littlest pop stars to the young at heart, there's something here for everyone to enjoy.

“Get ready to ignite your Eurovision spirit and make memories that'll last a lifetime. Let's make this Eurovision celebration one for the history books.”

Doors for the event open at 6.30pm. All ages are welcome. To book tickets call the box office on 01305 783225 or visit www.weymouthpavilion.com.
