Dorset's motorists will have several road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A31,  to 6am June 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A31 both directions Ashley Heath to Palmersford, carriageway and lane closures for drainage work.

• A303, to 5am December 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Hayes End to Parkhouse - mobile lane works for drainage works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A31, from 8pm May 2 to 6am May 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A31 eastbound, Ashley Heath to Ringwood, slip road and lane closures for signage work.

• A31, from 8pm May 3 to 6am May 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 both directions Boundary Lane, Roundabout and lane closures for signage work.

• A31, from 6am to 10am on May 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 both directions Winterbourne Zelston to Spetisbury, temporary traffic signals for BT works.

• A31, from 7am to 10.30am on May 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 both directions B3075 to Marsh Lane, temporary traffic signals for BT works.

• A31, from 8pm May 13 to 6am May 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 both directions Ashley Heath to Boundary Lane, Lane closures for technology work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
