Young smith Jacob JACOB Grant-Jones was celebrating after he achieved his ambition to become the youngest competitor in the National Blacksmiths Competition - and was rewarded with a highly commended certificate.
Jacob, 12, of Sutton Poyntz, made a double-ended hook in the 30-minute live competition at Dorset County Show in Dorchester.
He then followed his success by making two more that sold within 10 minutes- in line with the competition's aim to make something saleable.
The event was also a special occasion for Jacob's dad, Simon Grant-Jones, who teaches blacksmithing at Kingston Maurward College near Dorchester.
He became the static show champion and also the reserve live champion, following on from becoming the champion at the New Forest Show this year and making him the National Champion for the static competition.
Two of Simon's students also won awards, a third prize and a highly commended, at the show. He is pictured receiving his certificate from show judge Richard Chellew.
