WEYMOUTH and Portland Housing is taking advantage of falling property prices to boost its stock.
Managing director Kevin Dey said: "WPH is continuing to liaise closely with builders and has the financial capacity to buy properties at a discounted rate for shared ownership sale and social housing rent.
"It is important to try to use the positive of lower prices in the current situation, taking opportunities to provide homes for those who can't afford to buy or rent.
"The situation can only get worse for those in need of housing as we wait for the future recovery of the market."
WPH currently has interests in a number of developments including sites in Portland, Dorchester and Weymouth.
