COMMUNITY worker Kris Hallett is pictured with items donated to help a poor community on a remote Fijian island.
Mrs Hallett, who works for Dorset Community Action, said she was overwhelmed by the response.
"I am indebted especially to Stella Jones and Damers First School who provided a massive range of items.
"So much generosity was shown that I was able to approach Peter and Margaret Long of the Children of Fiji charity based at Cattistock to ask if they would find some of the items useful for their work with other schools and organisations in Fiji.
"They were very helpful and even generously gave space for the items for the Waya Lai Lai Learning Centre to go in a crate they had arranged free shipping for."
The items are now en route from Southampton and due to arrive in Fiji this month.
