AN OFF-DUTY policeman who leapt into action and helped an accident victim when a car flipped over has been honoured with an award.
PC Adam McLean, 32, who is based at Sherborne police station, was walking his dog in Yeovil when a car hit a tree and landed on its roof.
PC McLean called for help before climbing in the car and assisting the seriously injured driver until emergency services arrived.
He received a Chief Constable's Quality of Service Award at a Dorset Police ceremony.
