A MANHOLE cover came loose and punctured a car’s tyre, police said.
One lane of traffic was closed on the A354 Ridgeway Road, between Winterbourne Monkton and the top of the Ridgeway, as a result of the accident.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “We had a 999 call at 2pm to say there was a large piece of metal in the middle of the road.
“No one was injured but it appeared that a manhole cover had come loose and become involved in a road traffic collision.
“It resulted in a punctured car tyre.”
PART of the A35 was blocked after a car hit a deer causing a three-vehicle collision between Bere Regis and Morden Park Corner.
