FAMILY firm Shoetrees of Weymouth and Dorchester are thriving despite the tough economic conditions.

The shops are run by husband and wife Malcolm and Jo Holbrook, and are staffed by family and friends.

The shop in Trinity Street, Dorchester, has been open for three years and the Weymouth shop in Coburg Place is in its fifth year of business.

Mr and Mrs Holbrook say that a third shop was also due to open.

Mr Holbrook said: “Experience counts. Between our staff we have 86 years in the shoe repair, key cutting and travel environment.”

He added: “We all go forward with continued good service which counts for a lot in this day and age.

“Here’s to many more years.”
