WE SEE that Angus Campbell, the Conservative Leader of Dorset, is once again using the Echo to justify levying one of the highest council taxes of any county council in the country by pleading poverty.

Yet in the last six years the annual sum provided by the government has gone up from £231 million to £333 million. The Tories have taken a debt-free council and borrowed approaching £250 million.

So what have they done with it all – given that care of the elderly is among the worst in the country and our roads are in 'managed decline'.

Just thought we’d ask.

Coun Trevor Jones, Coun Richard Biggs, County Councillors for Dorchester.
