MEDAL-winning Olympian Bryony Shaw will be officially launching National Windsurfing Week 2010.

The former Weymouth schoolgirl will be showing her support for the event at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show, at Alexandra Palace, London, on Saturday, March 6.

National Windsurfing Week 2010 takes place May 1-9 across the country.

The aim of the nine-day event is to raise the profile of windsurfing and introduce more people to the sport.

Billed as a ‘celebration of all things windsurfing’, the week will see windsurfing festivals, competitions and taster sessions happening across the country including Bryony’s home town of Weymouth National Windsurfing Week chairman Sean Blackmore said: “We’re really excited to have the support of Bryony once again and an official signing by an Olympian on our stand is a great way to launch National Windsurfing Week 2010 to the public.

“I hope that people will really make the most of it.”
