VAUXHALL will be majoring on its specialist vehicle conversions at the NEC Commercial Vehicle Show, which opens its doors on April 5.

The Luton-built, award-winning Vivaro will be displayed in a number of variants both on the Vauxhall stand and elsewhere in the show, including the nine-seater Vivaro minibus conversion.

Also on view will be the all-new hi-deck dropside on the Vivaro chassis, developed in response to several operator requests.

A long wheelbase crew cab tipper leads the Movano pack at the NEC. It has an Ingimex tipper body with a 2,880mm load length - and seating for seven people.

The NEC will be the debut for the new six-speed clutchless Tecshift transmission system now available across vans in the Movano range fitted with the 2.5 litre CDTi common rail diesel engine.

Renault will have a significant presence at this year's Commercial Vehicle Show with again the emphasis on conversions.

Renault will have a total of 13 vans on display, including four products making their UK debuts: Trafic nine-seat minibus, Master minibus, Master Combi (minibus) and the Master RWD Dropside.

Elsewhere on the stand will be nine other Renault vans demonstrating the brand's diversity, including the Master Ambulance, Master Tipper and also the recently-introduced Master Luton van.

Mercedes Trucks will be displaying two of the latest tractor units based on the Actros starting with the Euro-5 BlueTec-equipped 1858LS 4x2 Long Distance, featur-ing the full width high roof sleeper cab.

Extensive redevelopment of the much-acclaimed Mercedes-Benz OM501LA V6 engine has led to the introduction of a new 480bhp powerplant, capable of developing some 2300Nm at 1080rpm whilst meeting stringent Euro-5 emission standards.

Secondly, the new and exclusive Actros - Black Edition.

Featuring the most powerful V8 engine in Europe, producing 612bhp, this Euro-3 compliant 15.9 litre engine was created exclusively for this special edition model.

The Mercedes stand will also include two new vehicles.

The New Axor 2543LS 6x2 mid lift tractor featuring a standard roof sleeper in Magma Red and the 16-speed Telligent gearbox and the New Axor 1823 4x2 rigid, also featuring a standard roof sleeper in Magma Red.
