AN inexperienced Bashley side battled bravely before slipping out of the Bryco Cup to a powerful Folkestone Invicta.
The Ryman Premier outfit proved too much for young Bash, who were without numerous first-teamers and were forced to hand debuts to Andy Hough and Paul Miller.
And despite falling two behind inside 10 minutes to strikes from Joe Neilson and Michael Everitt, the New Forest side refused to let their heads drop.
Darren Head pulled one back, converting James Totczyk's clever centre on 25 minutes and it was Totczyk who came closest to grabbing an equaliser in the second half but the young striker saw his shot brilliantly palmed away by the home goalkeeper.
Bash: Elm, Ferrett, Slade, Parnell, Proudley, Hough (Miller 79), Knowles, Head, Gibbons, Totcyzk, Wakefield. Unused sub: Harper.
