DORCHESTER Football Club are planning a big, four-day party in April to celebrate the club's 125th anniversary.
A luxury marquee will be erected in the front car park at the Avenue Stadium to host various events including a sportsman's dinner at which the goalscoring hero of England's 1966 World Cup winning side Sir Geoff Hurst will be the celebrity speaker.
Also planned as part of the celebrations of the club's founding in 1880 is a re-union evening for former players incorporating a race night and an end-of-season presentation night and dinner-dance.
Club director David Grassby, the man overseeing the celebration programme, said they wanted to make it a milestone to remember. Full story in Echosport.
