TOM Langdon has to travel from Washington DC to Los Angeles in time to spend Christmas with his girl-friend.
Unfortunately his trip is made difficult by the fact he is banned from travelling by air in the United States
following an incident with airport security. So he decides to make the trip by train.
Along the way he meets some very colourful characters including Roxanne, the singing train steward; Max Powers, the Hollywood director; Eleanor Carter, his long lost love and Agnes Joe, the lonely old lady who rides the trains regularly.
During the journey the weather turns nasty and a massive storm is on its way.
The passengers feel concerned when the storm buries the train at a remote pass and a rescue attempted.
A good story for a disaster movie!
