AN inquest was opened and adjourned in Bournemouth on Friday (Nov 5) into the death of 38-year-old Christchurch car dealer Darren Anderson.
Mr Anderson's Jeep Cherokee came off a slipway into the River Stour near his home in the Watermead development off Willow Way last Sunday.
The four-wheel-drive vehicle sank in nine feet of water about 30ft from the river bank.
Neighbours watched in horror as the large vehicle sank below the water.
Rescue attempts by the emergency services proved fruitless.
Mr Anderson was married with a teenage daughter.
