A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a collision in Ilminster on Wednesday afternoon is believed to have been a former Lyme Regis man who was living in Taunton. As the News went to press, police were yet to confirm the identity of the driver. Two people died in the collision on the A358 when a blue Ford Sierra crossed the dual carriageway section near the Nag's Head pub and collided with a Yamaha motorcycle that was travelling towards Taunton. The driver of the Sierra, a 33-year-old man from Martock, and the motorcyclist, a 36- year-old man, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Police are appealing for witnesses - anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 0845 456 7000 or call Crimestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
