POLICE in Lyme Regis and Charmouth have pledged to deliver a first class, high performing and cost effective service to the community, and to make the area a safer place. In a leaflet published this week which outlines changes to the local service, Inspector Alan Jenkins said he was confident his officers could tackle issues such as anti-social behaviour, crime, drug abuse and traffic problems. The leaflet details the forces priorities for Lyme and Charmouth, which include: f Tackling anti-social behaviour f Reducing street, drug-related and violent crime f Reducing the number of burglaries It said the force would provide the highest standard of integrity and conduct and would aim to promote equal opportunities and good relations between people from different racial groups. It said the force would learn from its mistakes and reflect local priorities. The leaflet also announced changes in the opening hours of the new police station in Hill Road V the front desk at the new station is now staffed by station desk officers six days a week from 9am to 1pm.
