A WORLDWIDE trip-of-a-lifetime has turned to tragedy after a young Dorset man was found dead in Cambodia.
Simon Wareham, aged 25, died on Wednesday (Nov 3), although details surrounding his death are unclear.
A Foreign and Commonwealth office spokeswoman said his death was not being treated as suspicious.
Simon, from Alderholt, worked as a recruitment consultant in Southampton before leaving his job to start travelling last month.
On the Friends Reunited website he wrote: "Decided life's too short, so jacked in the job and am going round the world."
Simon, who was travelling with former schoolfriends, Matt Stott and Daniel Clapson, planned to visit a host of countries including Thailand, Vietnam and Australia during his 12-month adventure.
In Churchill Close, Alderholt, where he was brought up with his mother Pat, a teacher at the village school, and step-father David Jerrard, neighbours spoke of their "immense shock" at the tragedy.
David Tooke, who had known Simon since he was seven, said: "An awful lot of people knew and liked Simon. He will be greatly missed."
