BOURNEMOUTH ABC's Amiz Mahmoudi produced a devastating performance to defeat Tom Brown in a schoolboy contest at the TA Drill Hall in Dorchester.

Mahmoudi is improving with every bout and he showed both excellent movement and crisp punching in defeating a good opponent in his Sturminster Newton ABC rival.

The Bournemouth youngster's sharp left lead and occasional left hook to the body shook Brown, who landed telling punches of his own.

But the more accurate blows from Mahmoudi earned him a well-deserved unanimous verdict over three keenly fought rounds on Dorchester ABC's bill.

In another schoolboy encounter, Jake Livings-tone (Bournemouth ABC) proved too strong for Jake Lauder (Dorchester ABC).

Livingstone attacked from the opening bell, punching hard and accurately with both hands and referee Gary Booth stopped the proceedings towards the end of round one.

In a youth contest, Joe McGrath (Bournemouth) having his first outing, boxed exceptionally well, exploiting his superior height and reach to consistently land a stabbing left jab to the head of Andy Pearce (Plymouth Pilgrims ABC).

Only in the third and final round, with McGrath attempting some close quarter punching did the Plymouth boxer score more readily.

But by then, McGrath had built-up a convincing lead and he ended a unanimous winner on points.

In a senior bout at 65kg, Ahmed Salem (Bournemouth) having his first contest, started confidently, landing jabs to the head of Jamie Gay (Bridport ABC).

But he noticeably dropped his guard when punching.

And it was that fault which resulted in Gay landing an excellently timed straight right hand to the jaw towards the end of the first round that floored Salem.

The Bournemouth boxer gallantly rose at the count of eight, but the referee rightly then stopped the bout in favour of Gay.

A heavyweight bout between first timer Adam Eeshajmer (Bournemouth) and George Harvey (Purbeck) started well, with the lighter Bournemouth boxer attempting to get close to his taller opponent.

However, as the bout progressed, both boxers tired and many punches were missed.

In the third round, a heavy swing from Harvey broke Eeshamjmer's nose.

He carried on gamely while gasping for breath, but Harvey sensed his advantage and pressed forward to gain a unanimous decision.

In the final bout of the evening heavyweights Roy Hales (Bournemouth) and Michael Street (Plymouth Pilgrims) seemed more intent on landing a knockout blow rather than employing orthodox boxing techniques.

That resulted in many clinches, but heavy blows were exchanged with neither boxer willing to give ground.

It was a very hard fought contest with the ringside judges divided in their verdict, but at the end of three gruelling rounds, Hales gained the decision.
