HONEY (PG)

Honey Daniels (Jessica Alba) dreams of making it big as a choreographer and dancer.

By day, she teaches hip hop classes at a local centre for neighbourhood kids, who respond positively to her enthusiasm and obvious talent.

By night, she works behind the bar of a bustling nightclub where she gets to showcase her hot dance moves at the end of her gruelling shift.

Lady luck finally smiles on her when renowned director Michael Ellis (David Mostow) spots her on the dance-floor and offers her a spot as a back-up dancer.

Despite her inexperience, Honey's ability and energy shine through and Michael allows her to live her fantasy, choreographing for some of the music industry's biggest names, including Missy Elliott, Ginuwine, Tweet, and Jadakiss and Sheek.

Unfortunately, the dream gradually turns into a nightmare as Honey finds herself gravitating away from her boyfriend Chaz (Mekhi Phifer) and protective best friend Gina (Joy Bryant), and she misses her weekly classes with the kids.

Thankfully, wayward street kid Benny (Lil' Romeo) and his pals encourage Honey to rediscover her love of dancing and together they organise a showcase evening to raise enough money to buy a dance studio for the local youngsters.
