COUNCIL taxes in the New Forest have been agreed with an overall increase of £66.49 for the average Band D property, taking the amount payable to £1,177.93.
Major share of the tax will go to Hampshire County Council which wants £840.15 for Band D homes. New Forest District Council, which collects the tax, requires a £130.94 contribution and Hampshire Police Authority needs £106.83.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service has set its own precept for the first time this year.
It is looking for £51.30, or 99p a week from every household, to raise £30,880,000 in council tax to add to the £27,488,000 it gets through Revenue Support Grant and Business Rates.
Then come the town and parish councils which want an average £48.71, ranging from £6.54 at Exbury and Lepe to £91.22 at Totton and Eling.
Fordingbridge Town Council has the largest precept in the west of the Forest, with £60.13 while Burley Parish Council's is least at £7.19.
